Beautiful Bookworm & Smile {Scrapbooking}

Hi folks, hope you all are having or had a great weekend! I sure did. I snatched up a really nice buffet/credenza at an estate sale and got to sit down and scrap.
Oh My Goodness it was great to finally get some scrapping done! FYI I'm a scrap-a-holic & a  picture taking fanatic! My favorite subjects to photograph are my children-of course.
My oldest daughter is a serious bookworm! She is a self proclaimed geek/nerd. Some parents are fussing at their kids to, "Come pick up your toys". I'm fussing for her to pick up her books.

She wanted to do a photo shoot that showcased her geeky/nerdiness and her love of reading in her new favorite graphic T. We had so much fun taking these pictures. They grow so fast.

This year for my little one's birthday, her Dad and I surprised her at school with cupcakes! This was a  big deal to me because her previous schools didn't allow outside food in so this was her first time sharing cupcakes with the class.

She is my "smiley" child. Always smiling and giggling.

I am so in love with the newest lines from My Minds Eye- I.want.them.all. Their stuff used to be too busy for me. But for my birthday this year my friend sent me the Sunshine Collection and I adored it. I went to a convention a few weeks ago and snatched a few pieces from  new Indie Chic Collection.

Something to scrap about!

If you’ve been reading my blog you know my Mommy was here over the holidays! It’s almost become tradition that she’s here (wherever that may be: Alaska, Texas, Maryland) with us for either Christmas or New Years. This time she bought with her some pretty scrap papers she found at TJ Maxx. I think she picked up mostly because it had a lot of pink which is her favorite color. But it just happened to work out perfectly for a photo of her I’d planned to scrap. mommyPapers used were:Fiskers Cloud 9 Design circa 2007. Love the gray and pink shades. I enhanced the flowers and paper with Stickles and Glossy Accents. I used DCWV The mini scalloped textured cardstock stack. And of course my new favorite embellishment, swirly pearls!

mommy close upHere is a close up of the embellishments. I haven’t written in the journaling yet, I have to figure out how to shorten what I want to say. I love those word stickers that came with the kit. This page came together super quick because it was a kit and everything coordinated!

chrismtas2009Here is a LO of my beautiful daughters last year at Christmas time. I used My Minds Eye Wonderful Winter Glittered Christmas Papers. I finally dusted off my Cricut and used her to cut out the snowflakes.

christmas 2009Here in the close up you can kind of see the stickles I added to the snowflakes to give them sparkle! Looking at these photo’s and looking at them now. The Pookie Doo has grown taller, thinner (her squishiness is fading) and too smart for her own good. The Munchkin has also grown taller, wiser and more confident. Watching them grow is so bittersweet.

Thanks for Looking!

Tiffany

Keep checking back! I have some awesome news to reveal this week!

Good Friends who Scrap are hard to find!

But lucky for me I have one, well a few actually but today I'm scrapped about one. Her name is Tina. We met back in 05 when I moved to TX by of military PCS move. I decided to open a home daycare and she was assigned as my mentor! LUCKY ME! She's an awesome provider, who had tons of experience and patience. On top of that she was a Creative Memories consultant. In no time I was at her kitchen table any given Sunday, country music playing in the background ( I don't usually listen to country) and brownies on the snack table. I sure do miss be able to hop in the car and head over to her house for a crop. But hopefully we'll be able to scrap together again soon oneday.
I was also looking to use Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl and these paper fit perfect. I couldn't resist adding in little Crate Papers Paper Doll accents. That line is my current favorite. I also did what I call EXTREME stitching. I wasn't sure how it was going to turn ou since it was my first time using the thick thread but I like it!  Hope you do too!

**Piggies**

Earlier this year my little E got a mild ear infection and was prescribed antibiotics, so she had to stay home from school the following day. She was a little bummed so I decided to take her for her first PEDICURE! She had a blast and I was kicking myself for forgetting to bring my camera. Her nail tech treated her like a little princess, it was so cute. They gave her a water in a little goblet and wrapped up her hair like she was at a spa. Well I didn't get before or during pictures but I did get after pics! I knew exactily which papers I'd be using for this LO. Crate Papers: Paper Dolls, these papers had to be made with E in mind ;0). Visit  my gallery to see a full list of products used.

I used stickles and glossy accents to jazz up the baby doll". I designed this LO from a sketch a friend of mind found.

Spring Fever!

I love those first few days of Spring when the kids can go out an play, ride their bikes & scooters, play at the park, and climb a tree. I usually in enjoy watching from a comfortable chair, peeking over the latest issue of one my favorite scrapbook magazines and sipping on a Sierra Mist.
During the first few weeks of Spring, the weather here was back and forth. One day it would be warm and breezy in the hi 70s and the next day it would be freezing cold in the lo 50s. After a few days of cold weather we finally got a warm sunny day, the flowers were blooming on the trees, insects were coming out, birds were everywhere and the kids on my street were so excited to be outdoors.

For this LO I used Fancy Pants: Sweet Spring Line. Kaydee, Marli, Abbi, & Sweet Spring Alpha.
Thickers alpha's, Glimmer mist: Black magic. The masking kind of happened on accident. I was trying to spray the yellow background paper because I thought it was too bright and didn't see the piece of paper covering one of strips.  After I saw the result I decided to give it a try on purpose and used little pieces of paper and paperclips.
Here's a sketch I created and used for this LO.

Butterfly

As soon as I took these photos of E I could not wait to develop and scrap them. We'd attended an event here in our town and they had games and face painting for the children. I'd thought she would get just a little flower or ladybug on her cheek but she saw the full face butterfly and said,"Mommy, I wan the big butterfly". It turned out really cute and she didn't want to wash it off it at the end of the day.
I used My Minds Eye papers on this LO.

Introducing.....My youngest child Sampson!

I have never done a LO of Sampson, WHY? I don't know. He is my youngest child @ 4 years old. He is a Black Labrador Retreiver and while he is very loving and sweet, he can be super stubborn! This LO is of him enjoying a bone. The only way I can get him to sit still long enough for me to take his picture!
On this LO I used Crate Papers- Brook Collection, Glimmer Mist, Jillibean Soup Alpha Stickers, and my Creative Memories shape cutting system.

Oooooo it's so CUTE!!!

Crate Paper's Paper Doll Collection that is. I just received the goodies in the mail yesterday and they are even better than what I expected! This line goes so well with pictures I've taken of my 5 year old. She's such a girly girl and I LOVE IT!!

For about a year now we've been asking her periodically if she'd like to get her ears pierced. Once she said yes so we beat it over to the mall and just as we walked up a baby got her ears done and SCREAMED!!! Erynn immediately said, "Uhmmm...No thanks!" So I just let go of trying to get her ear pierced until one Wednesday morning she woke up an during our morning get up and go routine she asked to have her ears pierced! I was super surprised and didn't believe she'd go threw with it. I told her we'd go on the weekend. Well wouldn't you know it come Saturday her first question was, "Are we going to get my ears pierced now?" So we went to Clair's and she surprised me and dad. She picked out cute little PINK flowers and even made sure I had the camera and was ready to take pictures. I'd been looking for the perfect papers to go with the pictures and well you just look and see:

See, see what I mean aren't these papers ADORABLE!

I love putting the curly paper on LOs now.
Several cute little chipper board accents, I had to stop myself from using them all on this one LO!
